Would you believe it if I said I have never shot a wedding in April? Well it is the truth and now here I am blogging my first ever April wedding, and guess what. I have 3 more this month. Not only am I finally crossing April off my list but I will be crossing it off four times. So now I have officially shot a wedding in every single month! Only 125+ weddings later and I have finally done it. Want to know the best part of it? We really started off April with a bang and it is only going to stay amazing from here!
We had the most pleasant spring day for Olivia and Donnie to tie the knot. A perfect 65 degrees, and partly cloudy, minus the wind, which let me tell you was something until it died down, it was beautiful. It was perfect for a beautiful outdoor ceremony under Crystal Coops perfectly crafted wood pergola. The day was perfectly complimented by gorgeous details. Olivia hand crafted her florals herself which complimented her burgundy and blush color palette perfectly. This color palette was further highlighted in their reception decor and Olivia’s bridesmaids’s gorgeous dresses. Seriously obsessed with the style Olivia chose for her girls! They look so flattering on everyone. I loved how they were combo-ed with the dark grey suits the guys wore. I also loved the little detail of Donnie wearing black while the guys wore dark grey. It was a perfect way to stand out a little without too much. Overall the details of the day were gorgeous and the perfect compliment to the gorgeous venue. Seriously if you are looking for a venue you need to check out Crystal Coop. It’s gorgeous all white interior makes it a blank space for decor. It has the best getting ready space I have ever seen in a venue for both guys and girls! It also has gorgeous grounds and a perfect outdoor space. Seriously it was such a gorgeous venue for the day.
Along with the venue and details was a great wedding party. I knew it was going to be good thought. I shot Olivia’s sister’s wedding in 2019, so I knew that these girls are well loved by their friends and family and it shown with Olivia’s bridal party. They were all so sweet and excited for Olivia. They were all so hands on, and just furthered how great the day was. I can say the exact same about the guys as they were truly a fun bunch. They kept Donnie calm pre-ceremony with hilarious jokes, and stories of their bachelor party. They were all excited for Donnie and honestly you could just tell there was a lot of love from everyone over these two. After all Olivia and Donnie had been dating quite some time, so everyone was very ready to finally see this day happen.
The people most ready for this day was definitely Olivia and Donnie. Donnie choked back tears as Olivia made her way down the aisle while Amazing Grace was played. See the sweetness of these two can be summed up with this detail of their day. Olivia’s father passed away when she was young and often played Amazing Grace on the bagpipes for her. The original plan for the wedding was to have a recording played, but Donnie surprised Olivia and hired a bagpipe player. TALK ABOUT TEARS. Honestly I was holding them back as Olivia walked down the aisle. It was truly such a beautiful moment and such a sweet thing that Donnie did for his bride. It just truly showcased the love and dedication to Olivia that Donnie has. I mean the same can be said about Olivia who is just as sweet, and just as dedicated to Donnie, you can see it all over her face. The way she looks at him is one with love and like her whole life includes him. These two are truly so cute together that I can’t even handle it.
