Headwaters Park | Fort Wayne, Indiana
I have been very vocal about how much I love anniversary sessions, and how could I not? Each of my couples is so near and dear to my heart, because after all, I spend usually at least a year talking about their wedding with them, photographing their engagement session, and planning for their day of photography. So honestly I am always a little sad as I send out my wedding galleries because it means no more emails, or texts to talk about their wedding. No more planning for their big day. No more photographing them. Hence why I offer all my couples to fill out a post wedding survey, and receive a anniversary session as a thank you, because honestly I kinda miss them, and having another change to photograph them and catch up with them about their first year of marriage is my absolute favorite. Anniversary sessions will always have a solid place in my heart.
Lauren and Jimmy’s anniversary session was no different. I was overly excited about it, about as excited as I was the first time someone paid me for taking their pictures. Lauren wanted to do their anniversary photos at Headwaters Park which is where I photographed their portraits on their wedding day. Now last year when we shot here, the park was flooded, meaning we did not get to take advantage of the amazing willow tree and the dock by the water, but this time we did and oh my goodness I think Headwaters is my new favorite place to shoot! It was seriously gorgeous especially since we shot at Golden hour. Talk about a dream session happening over here! Literally Lauren and Jimmy were the overly adorable couple they always are, aka a dream to photograph, combined with the location and the lighting. Seriously probably one of my favorite sessions I have had! Plus I loved catching up with these two after their first year of marriage, hearing all they are up to, and being so dang thankful that these two hired me as their wedding photographer!
