Let me tell you, 3 April weddings in and I am pretty sure mother nature has thrown its all at me. First weekend I was working with 20 mph winds throughout a good majority of the day, the second weekend was filled with torrential dour pour for the entire day, and now finally April gave us an absolutely gorgeous spring day for a wedding. FINALLY! Although I should disclaim that literally minutes after we finished photos it started pouring, so it was not perfect all day, but it was perfect for photos and that is all I could ask for.
Alyssa and Grant’s wedding was dreamy, but how could it not be with a color palette of purple and gold. This color palette perfectly executed from the reception decor to the bridesmaids dresses, to the favors, to the florals. Gorgeous shades of purple with little gold accents were further complimented by the alter at St Peters and the gorgeous Orchard Ridge Country Club. Honestly I could talk details about this day for hours, and I just might because we are start with the venue. Orchard Ridge Country Club is absolutely gorgeous. It is the perfect wedding venue for anyone wanting to overlook lush greenery and their grounds were absolutely gorgeous for photos. Seriously they had a little patch of blooming wildflowers that were purple and gold, I call that fate. It also just added to the dreaminess of the day honestly. This was furthered by the gorgeous florals. Seriously I was OBSESSED with these florals. They were such gorgeous shades of purple and used flowers like Lilies which I tend to not see a ton of. They were seriously so pretty I could have just photographed them for the day. There was also the gorgeous bridesmaids dresses, seriously the shade of purple Alyssa chose was so pretty!
Besides the details, which seriously I had to cut myself off, there was an awesome bridal party. Both sides were filled with long term friends and family, seriously I am talking some long term friends, like 20+ years. So as you can imagine with this bridal party most of them had been there since day 1 of the relationship and were over the moon that after 8 years these two were finally tying the knot. But seriously these two were surrounded with a whole lot of love and joy from their bridal party. But then again if you know Alyssa and Grant it is not really hard to love these two.
Alyssa and Grant are so sweet together. Honestly their first look they exchanged was hands down the best one I have ever been apart of. The second Alyssa turned around Grant beamed with happiness, I am talking the biggest ear to ear smile I have ever seen from anyone in my entire life. He kept talking about how amazing she looked, complimenting every last detail from her dress to her hair to her makeup. Alyssa was the same way, and giddy with excitement. Seriously she could not stand still she was so excited to see Grant and tell him how great he looked. I mean after this many years how could you not be beyond excited to marry your high school sweetheart?
